Tumatauenga

Tena koutou katoa Our atua is Tumatauenga. He is the god of war. Tumatauenga had many names such as Tu-ka-riri, Tu-ka-taua, Tu-kai-tangata, Tu-whakaeke-tangata and Tu-te-ngangahau. Unlike his brothers Tu wanted to kill his parents but it was decided that their parents would just be separated. Tu battled with his brother Tawhirimatea over the separation and later he battled his other brothers for not helping him defeat Tawhiri. Our kahu whakaewarangi represents Tumatauenga and his many battles.
