Numeracy Progressions.

These are the number progressions we are currently trialling in Maths :)




Term Two Whakatauki

Explanation: Don't let anything distract you from your goal

He waewae taumaha he kiri maku
Explanation: You should always be in peak condition physically, mentally and spiritually

Ka puta a Matariki ka rere a Whanui ko te tohu o te tau
Explanation: Be aware of things that are happening around you

He toi whakairo he mana tangata
Explanation: Good work is always praised and rewarded

Toitu te Marae a Tane, toitu te Marae a Tangaroa, toitu te iwi
Explanation: Looking after our resources will ensure that there will always be something for others to enjoy

Explanation: If you do the wrong thing at the wrong time there are consequences

He tangata akona i te whare tu ki te Marae tau ana
Explanation: If someone is taught properly at home they will be confident no matter where they go

Explanation: I have responsibility for me, you have responsibility for you and we have responsibility for each other

Toitu he whenua whatungarongaro he tangata
Explanation: The choices and actions we make affect those who will use it tomorrow

Explanation: Many hands make light work. Everyone working towards the same goal.
